Used Fork Lift

The fork lift has become a required piece of equipment for many manufacturing and warehousing operations.  With it, large loads are lifted, moved, stacked and organized with ease.  Steel forks extend out the front (or the side if it’s a side loader) and are placed under the load which is typically situated on a wooden pallet.  The fork lift has a very tight turning axes and a counter weight to keep the fork lift from tipping over.  These features allow the fork lift to transport a load around narrow storage isles and lift loads into high storage racking with relative ease.

A new fork lift can run in the tens of thousands of dollars.  Both battery and gas powered fork lifts are available on the market, with battery-powered fork lifts being the most popular.

A used fork lift is clearly the best value economically.  Most fork lifts can be maintenance to run like new for several years.  And when you buy used, you won’t feel so bad the first time you put a large scratch on the paint or make a big dent on the side.

When buying used, be sure to pick a brand whose replacement parts will be easy to locate.  Most towns in America will have a local sales rep who can guide you in your purchase.  If you buy online, be sure to do a sufficient amount of research before purchasing.

Another resource to look at when buying a used fork lift is the local classifieds.  Often times a company will outgrow a particular model of fork lift and will offload their used fork lift at a reasonable price.  Furthermore, some companies will more or downsize, making their fork lift trucks available for sale.
